  10. DOUBLE CLICK ON THE Mac Install Me First ICON AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS.

  12. Kudo is a visual organizer that helps you find and use images, sound files and movies on this CD ROM  FAST.   Kudo uses a gallery of thumbnail size images to represent the original image, sound and movie files.

  14. Install Kudo using the installer in the root of this CD ROM.
  15.  
  16.     For Macintosh double click the install icon.
  17.     For Windows double click on the SETUP.EXE from the file manager.
  18.  
  19. Open a Kudo catalog from either the Macintosh MAC_KUDO folder or the Kudo Catalogs window in Window's Program Manager.

  21. Find images, movies or sound files by browsing using the scroll bars, the riffle feature or use the FIND button for searching via keywords.

  23. Windows users can preview the image by clicking once on the thumbnail and selecting image preview from the pull down image menu.   Mac users can preview with a double click on the thumbnail.  The preview will show you the original image full size, invoke the movie file or play the sound file.

  25. Mac and Windows users can "drag and drop" the thumbnail to an open application and place the original file into an open document graphics, desktop publishing or word processing application.  Click and hold the mouse button down as you move the thumbnail  release it in your open document.

  32. Documentation for this product has been provided in the form of a User Guide Catalog - simply double click on the catalog icon and double click on any page thumbnail to read it as a full screen preview.

  39. If you have Quark Xpress v3.11 or 3.12 you will need to copy the file "Kudo¿ XT 1.0.3" from your Kudo folder into the same folder as your Quark Xpress application. This will enable Kudo's Drag & Place feature to work correctly.

  41. Quark Xpress versions 3.2 & 3.3 do not require this XT file.

  48. The ╥Drag and Place╙ feature works with PageMaker version 4.2 and 5.0.

  54. Ñ In order for drag & place to work the Kudo application must be in the same folder as the place modules.

Ñ Dragging and Placing an image of a file format that PageMaker or Quark does not recognize will cause unexpected results.  For example: dragging and placing a gif image into PageMaker results in text (not an image, as you would expect) being imported into the PageMaker document.  This is a PageMaker or Quark weakness.

  58. Ñ If you have two monitors and the main monitor has fewer colors than the second, some ╥trails╙ will be evident while dragging thumbnails on the second monitor.

  60. Ñ When SoundEdit files (FSSD files) are previewed, the sound is not played.  Instead the thumbnail image is shown.  This is a known bug.
